I
studied Biology at Bath University beginning in September 2006 and graduating in
July 2009. During my time at the University I was involved with the Christian
Union, as a committee member and a bible study leader.
It was an amazing time of
opportunity for me to grow in my faith through the teaching at the main weekly
meeting and bible studies, and also in my witness as I was encouraged to share
my faith with my friends and had opportunities to bring them along to
evangelistic events.
The Christian Union at Bath is part of
UCCF: The Christian
Unions. This is a fellowship of students, staff and supporters that aims to give
every student at a British university the chance to hear and respond to the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Christian unions are led by students and supported by
UCCF staff workers and Relay workers.
Relay is a 10 month discipleship
programme for graduates, which involves being trained in mission to the student
world, and supporting a Christian Union. This year I have been given the
opportunity to be a Relay worker at
Bath Spa University.
I will be starting my Relay year at the end of August 2009 with the first training conference, and I will spend the year working with the students in their mission to tell those on campus what Jesus has done. The focus of the Relay programme is growing in grace and seeing how that radically changes the way we live. The Relay programme involves 8 hours of study per week, including:
looking at the core doctrines of the Christian faith
being discipled by the UCCF staff worker, Hannah Cordle
supporting the students by helping them plan evangelistic events
helping the students grow in their faith with one-to-one bible studies.
During the year I also hope to be part of a team that reaches out to students through evangelistic talks and events during a mission week.

I am responsible for finding my own team of supporters who will pray and give financially so that I can take part in this programme. I predict that my living and ministry costs will amount to around £7000 for the year, which equates to 8 people giving me £30 each month, 10 people giving me £15 per month and 20 people giving me £10 per month.
I will be sending regular prayer letters throughout the year, and if you would like to receive this, please email me at welcome(at)driftroadevangelical.org.uk
